Dear Fellow Tunghai University Alumni,
Greetings! It has been three months since we gathered to welcome Dr. and President Haydn Chen of Tunghai and current and former Directors of Tunghaiˇ¦s Alumni Office in north Jersey and Philadelphia. During this time period, Tunghai celebrated its 50th Birthday. Many alumni, including several from our area, attended and participated in various activities held on campus. The following is an update on our upcoming events.
1. You are invited to a pre-Chinese New Year party (starting at 5 pm) at the home of Chris Liang (Chem Class 25) and Ching Wu (Music Class 25) in Somerset, New Jersey on January 14, 2006. Dinner will be catered at $25/person. Any surplus money will be kept by TUAA-GNY for future activities. This will be an adult-only party. Make sure to arrange for a baby-sitter ahead of time. Please respond by sending an e-mail to me at cyang1000@comcast.net or Jo Chiang at chiangshuyun@hotmail.com. 2. We plan to discuss activities for next year (2006) during our party at the Liangsˇ¦ on January 14, 2006. Please attend if you can. 3. We now have a unified website for all chapters of alumni associations at www.thua.org . It is up and running. Please visit and give us your ideas and comments. 4. A five-year, US$5 million fundraising campaign for the Tunghai University Endowment Fund was initiated and announced during the recent Fiftieth Year Anniversary celebrations of the founding of Tunghai University in Taichung, Taiwan.
